How we score chiropractors in the Klang Valley Guide
Klang Valley Chiropractor Guide currently scores 58 chiropractor businesses across the Klang Valley, from Petaling Jaya and Subang to KL city and Ampang. Every score comes from the same rubric, applied the same way to every listing. This page explains what goes into that rubric, why we weighted it the way we did, and where the method has real limits.
The five signals, heaviest first
Each business gets a composite score out of 100, built from five measured signals. We list them here in order of how much they count.
Sentiment: 28%
This is the biggest single factor, and deliberately so. A star average on its own hides patterns. Two chiropractors can sit at the same 4.3 stars, but one has a handful of scattered gripes while the other has a run of recent reviews all describing the same problem: rushed adjustments, a receptionist who never answers the phone, or bills that surprise people. You cannot see that difference from a number alone. We read what recent reviews actually say and synthesise the themes, praise and complaints both, into a sentiment signal. It is the closest thing we have to asking "what do people keep saying about this practice, and does it match how it markets itself."
Rating: 26%
The Google aggregate star rating still matters, and it sits close behind sentiment in weight. It is a fast, honest summary of how a large number of past patients felt overall, even if it cannot tell you what they felt strongly about.
Volume: 20%
A practice with 4 reviews and a practice with 400 are not offering the same level of confidence, even at an identical star rating. We log-scale review volume so that going from 5 reviews to 50 matters more to the score than going from 500 to 550. This stops a small clinic with a few friendly reviews from outranking an established one with a long track record, purely on stars.
Recency: 14%
Chiropractors change hands, hire new associates, and shift how they run appointments. A clinic that earned great reviews in 2019 and nothing since tells you less about today's experience than one with a steady stream of reviews this year. Recency rewards businesses that keep earning fresh feedback.
Completeness: 12%
This checks whether basic practical information is actually listed: phone number, website, hours, and address. It is a small share of the score, but a clinic that makes itself easy to reach and visit is doing something real for patients, especially anyone dealing with pain and trying to book quickly.
Where the method is honestly limited
Businesses with few recent reviews cannot produce a statistically meaningful sentiment or rating signal, no matter how the math is weighted. When a listing does not have enough recent review volume to support a confident score, we label it low-confidence on the page, rather than quietly presenting it as equivalent to a well-reviewed clinic. We also do not republish reviews verbatim: we synthesise themes from them, and every listing links back to Google so you can read the original source yourself.
Scores are earned, not sold
Every score on this site comes from the rubric above and nothing else. Paid placement, where it exists on this site, is always labelled clearly and never changes a business's score or position. Any list where picks or ordering involved editorial judgment, rather than the rubric alone, discloses that directly on the page, such as our sports chiropractic picks.
Who publishes and maintains this guide
Klang Valley Chiropractor Guide is published by Meridian Guides, founded in 2025, which runs independent local directories for everyday services across Malaysia. Every Meridian Guides site uses the same published scoring approach built on public customer reviews, rankings are never for sale, and sponsored placements are always labeled. Listings across the network are re-checked on a monthly cycle, and this guide follows that same schedule: data is refreshed monthly, and each listing carries a "last verified" stamp so you can see it is actively maintained rather than left to go stale.
Editorial oversight of these rankings sits with Janice, Editor. You can reach the publisher directly at hello@meridianguides.my, or visit meridianguides.my to see the other city guides in the network. You can also return to the Klang Valley Chiropractor Guide home page at any time to browse current rankings.
FAQ
- Why does sentiment count more than the star rating?
- Star ratings compress everything into one number, so two chiropractors can share the same rating while one has repeated recent complaints about a specific issue and the other doesn't. Reading what reviews actually say catches that difference, which is why sentiment carries slightly more weight than the raw rating.
- What does a low-confidence label mean on a listing?
- It means that business does not yet have enough recent reviews for the sentiment and rating signals to be statistically reliable. We label these listings rather than scoring them as if they had the same evidence behind them as a well-reviewed clinic.
- Can a chiropractor pay to improve their score or ranking?
- No. Scores come only from the published rubric: sentiment, rating, volume, recency and completeness. Paid placements are labelled when they exist, and payment never changes a score or moves a business up the list.
- How often is the data updated?
- The whole directory refreshes on a monthly cycle, and each listing shows a last verified stamp so you can see when it was last checked.
